IPSEA is a national charity providing free legally based advice to families who have children with special educational needs. All our advice is given by trained volunteers.
Are you a parent of a child with special needs? Do you have problems with their education?
IPSEA's trained volunteers give free, legally based independent advice and support in England and Wales. Our help lines can be busy as we generally have just one or two volunteers covering them.

The law for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities has recently changed under the Children and Families Act. Statements of SEN will gradually be transferred to Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans.
During this transitional period, it is the job of Independent Supporters to help parents and young people understand, be supported and feel confident throughout these changes.
