Until everyone understands
> The SSA is a Swimming Club exclusively for children with Autism
> The SSA extends from our monthly family swim sessions Splash & Play.
> Only NAS Bristol Branch members are eligable to join the SSA.
> Children must have a diagnosis of Autism/ASD/Asperger Syndrome to join the SSA.
> Each child will benefit from a monthly bite sized swimming lesson working at their own pace.
> Children will learn to swim with our team of amazing swimming instructors
The SSA is currently full, but you can be added to the waiting list if you feel this may be something your child will like to do.
To be eligable to join the SSA you first have to join NAS Bristol Branch:
> It is a club exclusively for children with autism.
> As a member children will receive official club Tshirts, bags and swimming hats, progress packs and learning to swim books.
> It is open to children from pre-school age to teenagers with an autism diagnosis.
> Children and young people can learn to swim or simply improve technique, learn new skills and reach new goals.
> Children learn through play and having fun.
> Children work at their own pace and are rewarded for reaching their individual goals and celebrated at an awards ceremony.
> It is a fantastic opportunity for children to make new friends.
> Children are taught in 'bite sized' lessons (20 minutes) and are free to play and have fun before or after their lesson.
In January 2015, NAS Bristol Branch with the support af Access Sport Bristol and a team of swimming instructors were proud to launch Bristol's first swimming club exclusively for young people on the autism spectrum, the NAS Bristol Super Swimmers Academy (SSA).
